Purpose

The Florida Institute for Complementary & Alternative Medicine (FICAM) is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education, 325 West Gaines Street, Suite 1414, Tallahassee Florida 32399 under Florida Statute Chapter 1005, license #4013. It is the natural step in extending the vision first established in 1975 at the Executive Education Center in Boston which later moved to Florida and became the Quantum Healing Center. This licensing will provide a viable state sanctioned school to also train teachers, parents and other interested parties in the Attention Dynamics Training Program and standardize the successful protocols established as presented in the forthcoming book, Attention Dynamics. This school envisions helping fulfill the goals of both the Federal Government formation of NCCAM (National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine) and the National Institute of Health in Washington, D.C.’s mission to explore complementary and alternative healing practices in order to train C.A.M. researchers and to disseminate information to the public and professionals.

Further, this school is seen as a way to support Florida Statute 456.41 legislative intent to allow citizens to make their own choices for any type of health care treatment they believe will be effective for them as a substitute or complement to prevailing treatments.
